VirusREvolution aims to involve young scientists in cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and to create optimal conditions for the scientific and professional development.
VirusREvolution intends to establish an integrated Research Training Group offering a diverse program of specialized courses, lectures, seminars, workshops and annual retreats in virology, bioinformatics, analytical chemistry and biomedical imaging. This Research Training Group will not simply be a continuation of undergraduate education, but is rather designed to encourage doctoral students to cultivate their scientific curiosity and equip them with the skills necessary to pursue this curiosity independently. This includes the development and testing of scientific hypotheses as well as the development of new computational or experimental methods. The Research Training Group is managed, organized and supervised by Sebastian Böcker, Steve Hoffmann and Jürgen Popp.
The RTG will be integrated into the Jena Graduate Academy.
